David Mamet’s The Anarchist: The New Left’s Terrible Triumph - Hugh Hewitt - Page 2:
...Ezra Klein, Rachel Maddow, Jon Chait and Chris Hayes are the heirs to and current super-egos of the great noise from four decades back, with Kos as its id. That's it: all that is left of the New Left.

But this underwhelming legacy is why the '60s radicals should be thought of as the winners of a long delayed overtime. Not because they have a certified Alinskyite lefty as president. That's a temporary problem. The president has a sell-by date. He can do a lot more damage and no doubt will, but the House isn't going to agree to anything too stupid.
No, the '60s gang won because their utterly empty language triumphed. Endless talk about quite obviously empty propositions passes for debate. It is all cliche. Read the transcript of the president's presser last week. An avalanche of cliche. He doesn't know how else to talk. The press doesn't know how else to ask questions.
The lasting damage of the New Left isn't the fiscal bankruptcy of the country, but it's intellectual bottoming out. Because they were so vacuous, everything became vacuous. This is what I loved about The Anarchist. It batters the conceits of the Left so thoroughly at no one from that land of absurd arguments can leave without knowing Mamet's got their number. Frauds, all of them. Just frauds. Marcuse. Bloch. Rubin. The whole over-the-hill gang of sloganeering hucksters. For this work I am thankful.
But Lord it is depressing....
THERE IS NO GOD BUT FREEDOM, AND BUSH IS ITS PROPHET.
By Lawrence Auster
In his January 20th inaugural address, President George W. Boilerplate announced, in a more arrogant, unmodulated, and hectoring tone than ever before, that freedom—a word he repeated 35 times in the 17 minute speech, along with 15 repetitions of “liberty”—is a gift to every human being from God; that this freedom, which Bush did not define or give any content to, is the highest and most supreme of all values in the universe, so that the freedom virtually replaces the God who is giving it; and, finally, that it’s America’s duty and mission to spread this freedom to every nation and every human being on earth.
Putting together’s Gelernter’s announcement of a new religion called Americanism, which makes the attainment and realization of freedom its highest object, with Bush’s divinely appointed role as its agent, the essential shape of this new religion has now come into view. Its credo is published here for the first time. From this moment forth, every person on earth must swear to this truth, or be seen as an enemy of freedom:
Also, the world is henceforth divided into the Realm of Freedom, consisting of the lands that have submitted themselves to Americanism, and the Realm of War, consisting of those lands that reject it. Americanists are commanded to keep spreading the faith, by peaceful means if possible, by forceful means if necessary, until the whole of humanity has been converted to Americanism and brought into the Realm of Freedom.
Why are you posting this? Bush is long gone, and his policies are pretty much dead.
Policies dead? They are very much alive in Libya and Syria and we may yet see America go to war to advance Gay Freedom.
A majority of American youth are pro-gay freedom and combined with fetishes for freedom and military action, a lot is possible.
They are obviously dead in Libya and Syria, though people go on giving them lip-service.
It's possible that if America becomes an empire she will force policies of gay freedom upon the world. But it will be the fault of the various countries of the world. You sit there like spiritless lumps, never bestirring yourselves to any positive efforts of any kind.
You are an enormous vacuum, and America expands without trying to or wanting to, because of your nothingness.
I was recommended this website by my cousin. I am not sure whether this post is
written by him as no one else know such detailed about my problem.
You are amazing! Thanks!
