Cowardly liar....

Reuters: Obama says Republicans will use race to stoke fear

JACKSONVILLE, Florida (Reuters) - Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama said on Friday he expects Republicans to highlight the fact that he is black as part of an effort to make voters afraid of him.

"It is going to be very difficult for Republicans to run on their stewardship of the economy or their outstanding foreign policy," Obama told a fundraiser in Jacksonville, Florida. "We know what kind of campaign they're going to run. They're going to try to make you afraid.

"They're going to try to make you afraid of me. He's young and inexperienced and he's got a funny name. And did I mention he's black?"...

What a vile and despicable accusation. Neither McCain nor any Republicans of prominence have brought race into the campaign. Nor are they going to. (Nor would it do any good, since any racists we might be appealing to probably already have some slight awareness of the color of Mr Obama's skin.)

And it is doubly vile because the only ones who have brought race into politics so far are involved in the Democrat primary. Actually the only real racism in the primary was the fact that neither candidate could slam the other as had as they should have because of fear of being called "racist" or "sexist." The real racism today is contained in the identity politics that leftists practice. It is racist to go light on a candidate because of his race. Or gender.

"They're going to try to make you afraid of me." That's totally bogus. We are planning to make people worry—even be afraid—of where Obama's policies will lead the country. There's nothing wrong with that. Who would bother to try to make people afraid of Obama himself? That would be giving him more substance than he has.

By his comments that the Republicans might bring out the "race card", Barack Obama has done just that. It is he who is now bringing race into the campaign. Both candidates should realize that the bid for President isn't or, at least, shouldn't be, about race. I know that sounds naive, that there are many who will use either candidate's race to vote for or against him, but the campaign should be focused on what is right for the American people. Who will be the better person to serve ALL American's and look out for our interests? Barack Obama should know better, I think McCain knows that this isn't going to be a valid issue and shame on either who attempts to use it or suggests that it is at issue.

So let's see: we have the `terrorist' fist bump, the baby mama, the jokes about shooting both Obama and Osama - and that's just Fox News. McCain may stay clean, but his surrogates have shown that there is no limit to how low they will sink.

there is no limit to how low they will sink.

We have to sink that low to keep up with the hack you morons have chosen.

I'll grant you this -- you've given Americans a pure cypher, an unutterably blank slate. Barry is a Manchurian Candidate, perfect in every way. Speaking personally, I can't wait to see what happens. Especially when you can't accept the will of the American people. Your tiny head will explode, I bet.

Speaking as a grandfather, I fear for my kids. There just aren't enough of us.

No, there is no excuse whatsoever for your behavior. References to `terrorist' fist bumps, baby mamas, and jokes about shooting both Obama and Osama are clearly the resort of people who have decided that demagoguery, and poisoning the political discourse, are a quicker route to power than reasoned argument. The fact that you defend them shows that Obama's warnings are indeed based in fact. But these things have run their course, and the Bush years will be _forever_ remembered as a low point in American democracy.

The fact that Obama is basically George McGovern in blackface has absolutely nothing to do with the visceral dislike some of us have for the man.

Nope, not at all. We're just racists, ayup.
