"Oft evil will shall evil mar"

I'm not too happy about the political landscape right now. But since I'm a strong supporter of President Bush, and think he is in fact a far greater leader than he is given credit for, I guess I've had seven fat years, and can't complain too much about fields full of lean kine.

But it is with keen pleasure that I now get to watch a couple of really horrid evil Dems slash at each other with the weapons they have used so unfairly against Republicans all my life.

Here's a treat: Hillary's unhappy about....wait for it.....the press going easy on a Democrat! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of...

...The press's failure to closely examine Obama's Iraq record is a source of perpetual frustration for the Clinton camp--and a fair gripe. It has allowed Obama's supporters to mythologize him as a fearless crusader. At the same time, it has enabled the Clintons to mount overzealous attacks on his record....

Bush' record

On December 12, 1983, the U.S. embassy in Kuwait was bombed, killing six and wounding scores of others. The bombers were tied to al-Dawa, a terror organization backed by Iran and leading the Shiite resistance against Saddam Hussein’s Iraqi regime (with which Iran was at war). The leader of Dawa’s “jihad office” in Syria at the time was none other than Nouri al-Maliki — now the prime Minister of Iraq (and who, having opposed the U.S. invasion of Iraq, currently squabbles with American authorities, draws his country ever closer to Iran and Syria, and professes his support for Hezbollah).

War and politics are like that. Messy and with moral ambiguities.

And they are ALWAYS like that. For everybody. For every country. Even India. Right now in places like al Anbar Province our guys are out hunting al Qaeda killers side-by-side with Iraqis who were shooting at us less than a year ago. C'est la vie, baby. It doesn't bother me. Long as we win.

But are you winning?.
Jihadists are very close to getting nukes in Pakistan and legally too.
And if the terrorists have come into power then who is winning. Obviously them.

And the much-praised Reagan who let Pakistan develop nukes, I am sure history will remember him, his legacy will live forever.
Americans yet do not pay sufficient attention to Pakistan. It is the first Jihadist State and has engaged in two genocides (1947 and 1971) and yet the Pakistan is an American ally alonside Saudi Arabia.
Now with such allies, it is understandable that US is not loved much and is subject of suspicion everywhere.

Bisaal, you are thinking like a leftist, that is, thinking that nothing ever happens in the world unless it is done by the United States.

One would imagine from your comments that Pakistan's nukes had nothing to do with Pakistan being caught between a Soviet Union that had just swallowed up Afghanistan, and, on the other border, that great friend and ally of Soviet tyranny, India, with nukes of her own, and Soviet jets and Soviet tanks...

Posted by: John Weidner at February 14, 2008 05:53 AM

And you sneer at Bush, but no President has ever done more to promote friendship and alliance with your country. Was that a mistake?

Oh, and what exactly is India doing in the Global War on Terror? Are you guys getting ready to fight in Pakistan, if it comes to that? Afghanistan? Iraq? Africa? It's your war too, like it or not. If terrorists in Pakistan get nukes, you are a lot closer than we are.

I am no apologist for my Govt which lacks people of boldness and vision.
And it is not War on terror for me, but rather War with Islam, begun 16th Aug 1946.

A fine War on Terror it is with making Prime Ministers out of terrorists.
Yes we are in much greater danger but I am confident that my Govt will retaliate fully while The US Govt is likely to only make weak responses, even to most grave attacks.
