Johnny Hart

Michelle has a fine tribute to cartoonist Johnny Hart, who died on Sunday. It was too too appropriate; a great cartoonist and Christian dies on Easter Sunday—at the drawing board!

Hart's comics were part of my normal life for so long that it's hard to realize how original and good he was. Mine, and many peoples favorite:

The gag ran for weeks. It was inspired, as true as any fable from Aesop.

Even though he was telling the truth, BC couldn't convince the others. The clams pulled tricks to make hm look nuts. Finally he gave in and said he'd keep their secret. The head clam stuck out his hand and said 'Shake!'

BC ran off screaming, 'Clams have hands! Clams have hands!'

I remember it. And the clam told B.C. he'd have to be killed, or else the other clams would kill him.
"How would they do that?"
"Knowing them, they'd probably kick me to death."
