We's back...

I have returned. Great trip, but I'm too tired to blog it now. Lonnnnng day, that started by spending 3 hours sitting outside a Big-O Tires, in Sonora up in the Gold Country, due to a blow-out. Temp over 100. I didn't want to sit inside in the cool, because one is forced to watch television. Bleh. [I wish all the world well, except the television industry--they should die tomorrow.]

But I enjoyed talking to an old-timer, who told me tales about being a 17-year-old P-51 mechanic in North Africa, and then a Kern County Deputy Sheriff and dog handler...

And I've now removed about 200 comment-spams that accumulated while I was away.

Welcome back. Nothing happened while you were gone.

You were missed!

Is it me, or was just about EVERYONE up near Sonora last weekend?

I went through on my way to Mi Wuk Village. No, it's not a summer camp.

Oh my word. We stayed at a friend's cabin in Mi-Wuk, before and after our expedition! We could have had dinner together at Diamond Jim's...

It is to laugh. My sister— who is very liberal— was speaking very loudly of politics as we were walking the dog on Sunday, then she quieted down with "I shouldn't speak so loud. This is a very conservative area." (I don't think she quite realizes my political leanings, probably because I would rather enjoy a good relationship with her than argue politics.)

I could have told her how right she was!
