We three monkeys...

Apparently the Afghan election didn't get much coverage in the media. Surprise, surprise.

What a disgrace. One of the amazing stories of our times, but I guess it's not "news," because it isn't a violent fiasco. And mostly, because it doesn't make the President and our military look bad.

Once again the Administration's policies have been rewarded with success. You "liberals" can wall yourselves off and pretend it isn't happening. But I suspect the message seeps into your unconscious minds somehow. And that's why you seem so unhappy and act so crazy.

So true, so true. Thanks for the heads up!

But, John, why say "you liberals" as if your entire audience is liberals? Perhaps "those readers who are liberals" would be more fair?!

anne:

It would seem that several of the more persistent commentators are of the liberal persuasion.

Perhaps John was addressing those whom he knew regularly read his work?

I was just having fun. I think my chances of winning the lottery are greater than the chance that a "liberal" will read this, slap his forehead, and say, "Gee, I never thought of that!"

Maybe the Afghan elections didn't get any coverage, but do you what did get coverage (at least on CNN)? Ted Turner's trip to North Korea. He went there to reasure the American public that the North Koreans, and spacifically Kim Jun Il, are completely truthful about the deal for it's nuclear weapons program and that the will stick to the agreement 100%. Yeah, like they did in 1993!
The whole interview was a complete joke, Wolf Blitzer couldn't believe what was comming out of Turner's mouth. I always suspected that Turner was a closet Communist, but I was trying to fugure out if Turner was covering for a compatriot (No, I haven't met Kim Jung Il, but his pictures tell me that we can trust him), or just plain stupid (There were a lot of skinny people there, but I didn't see anybody starving). Of course he didn't see anyone being tortured (Mr Turner, here is where we take our political prisoners to beat and torture them until we get what we want....and here is where we execute them. We don't have a trial system, it takes too much time). I can imagine Blitzer thinking "And I was working for this idiot?".
