Capitalist swine...

You know that picture of "Che?" The one that forms such a large part of the intellectual underpinnings of Left-wing thought?

Well, my son Rob sent this link, and said it sent his Irony Meter off the scale.

Apparently the Guevara family is mounting a world-wide legal campaign to gain control of the image, and the revenues thereof...(which are huge)

Che is the icon of the romanticized bumper-sticker revolutionary. Left-wingers who wear his image see themselves as swashbuckling idealists, but are dilettante groupies for a mass murderer.

If the marketers of La Revolution had to choose another icon, who would it be? Castro the Blowhard? Stalin the Slaughterer? Mao? Pol Pot? Ho Chi Minh?

Not an attractive bunch. This could be a crisis for the Left. If they can't play make-believe revolutionaries, what have they got?

Quick! Let's buy up the rights to Osama's lovely visage before somebody beats us to it!
