If you've got a better idea, let's hear it....
Steyn writes;
...What happened in one Russian schoolhouse is an abomination that has to be defeated, not merely regretted. But the only guys with any kind of plan are the Bush administration. Last Thursday, the President committed himself yet again to wholesale reform of the Muslim world. This is a dysfunctional region that exports its toxins, to Beslan, Bali and beyond, and is wealthy enough to be able to continue doing so.The anti-Bush crowd's plan is; "We have no plan. But our ability to sneer at yours is second-to-none." (Thanks to WizBang) Posted by John Weidner at September 5, 2004 08:54 PM | TrackBackYou can't turn Saudi Arabia and Yemen into New Hampshire or Sweden (according to taste), but if you could transform them into Singapore or Papua New Guinea or Belize or just about anything else you'd be making an immense improvement. It's a long shot, but, unlike Putin's plan to bomb them Islamists into submission or Chirac's reflexive inclination to buy them off, Bush is at least tackling the "root cause".
If you've got a better idea, let's hear it. Right now, his is the only plan on the table....
As you may remember, I came around to supporting the Iraq war, with a caveat that I didn’t think Bush was capable of making the right moves to win the peace. Sadly, history has bourn me out...
Which is why I support John Kerry. He seems to want to make the same moves Bush is making, but since he won’t be Bush, perhaps he’ll be a better dancer...

Posted by: John Weidner at September 6, 2004 10:26 AMStipulating that the plan is good but the execution is bad, then keeping the plan and ditching the executive seems like a good move...
Posted by: Andrew Cory at September 6, 2004 01:24 PMKerry's not going to keep the plan. He's going to get the troops out, and then go crawling to France for help -- which they won't give, but they'll be ever so charming in the way they won't give it. That seems to be the extent of Kerry's "plan."
