Jack Aubrey: "He feels your pain"

Souls in torment can come up with strange, messianic visions. And if I were a Democrat right now, I'd probably be in a bit of torment myself. Still, this guy's gone beyond the call of loopiness. He thinks Captain Jack Aubrey, in the film of Master and Commander, is going to remind people of.......of........are you ready?.........Bill Clinton! And also, apparently, of the Democratic candidate yet-to-come.

Did this guy see the same movie I did...?

Bill Clinton?!?!?

Indeed, did he see the movie at all? If he thinks 'You never would have found Aubrey strutting around on deck crowing, "Mission accomplished!",' he obviously left at least five minutes before the end of it.

Too true.
And I thought about mentioning that what the President really said was: "Our mission continues..."

The "smart" comment by the loopy commentator that O'Brian lived happily in France is rather negated by the fact that the original "enemy" in the book was an American ship....
